Project Day 5 Technology Topics & Technology Skills

LEARN phase
1. Go to the classroom that has your game. Take a photo of it. Then ask the students what they liked and didn't like about the game. (10 minutes)

2. Back in F19, discuss with your group what your goals were for making it fun...and did you meet those goals. Why or why not? (ON BLOG-Title Design project day 5, Label-Technology Topics AND Technology skills)

3. On your blog, reflect on the following questions
-What was the biggest problem you encountered? How did you solve it?
Our biggest problem while building the project was being able to construct it with so little time. At first we weren't organized and we wasted a lot of time, but when we split up and did a small part of the project each one, we were able to finish.

-When did you get your biggest "AH HA" idea? What was it?
When we were watching the videos, I saw a maze done by a friend of Cane and thought it was a very creative and easy to do game. We had all seen the same video and decided that we wanted to make the maze for the children

-Who in your group resisted new ideas the most and why?
Mackenzie was the one who resisted the most with our ideas. The original plan was to make a maze that would have four handles in which two players would try to get the marble inside their designated holes, trying to stop the other. However she started cutting two different pieces of cardboard and at last we had to make two separate mazes.

-What doubts did YOU have about the project and how did you overcome those doubts?
My doubt was, if the maze would be entertaining and if it would stand the children's use. When we went to the classroom, they weren't there so I don't know if they liked it. However the handles were broken, so I think that they may have played a lot but the tape wasn't able to resist the children's use.

-Who in your group played "devil's advocate" (a person who questions everything, even good ideas) and how did that help the process?
Paulina was the person who questioned the ideas and what should be done. She was the one who wanted the mazes to be connected and often disagreed with Mackenzie.

-What did you learn about yourself, teamwork, and the design process?
I learned that if we all work on a separate thing to contribute to the whole project, we were able to work efficiently and be able to finish faster. I think Cane really has an ability, it wasn't easy to come up with a game that could be done with cardboard that was entertaining and could stand being played several times by little kids.
